Hydro Jetting in Canton and Ball Ground, GA
When a cable only pokes a hole, jetting cleans the pipe
A drain cable punches through a clog and leaves most of it on the pipe walls, which is why the same kitchen line or main sewer clogs again a few months later. Hydro jetting sends water through the line at high pressure from a nozzle that scours the whole inside of the pipe, cutting out grease, scale, sludge and roots and flushing them to the main. Performance Plumbing hydro jets residential and commercial lines across Cherokee County, runs a camera afterward to prove the pipe is clean, and quotes it flat rate with no service call fee for the visit.
What we jet
- Main sewer lines with roots, grease or scale that keep closing the pipe after cabling.
- Kitchen lines coated with years of grease and soap that a cable cannot remove.
- Restaurant and commercial drain lines, including grease lines on a maintenance schedule.
- Lines before a camera inspection or a lining job, so the camera sees the pipe and the liner bonds to it.
- Septic lines between the house and the tank that have sludged up; see our septic division for the tank side.
- Storm and yard drains packed with silt, leaves and roots.
When hydro jetting is the right call
- A drain or main line that has been cabled more than once and keeps clogging.
- Multiple drains slow at the same time, or a sewer backup.
- Grease in a kitchen line, especially after years of cooking down the same sink.
- Roots the camera shows along the length of the pipe rather than at one joint.
- Scale and sludge in older cast iron or clay lines.
- Sewage odor from the drains with no single clog to blame.
Jetting is not the first tool for every clog. A single slow bathroom sink is a trap or a cable. Jetting is what we use when the problem is the condition of the whole pipe, not one blockage in it.
Camera first, jet second, camera again
We do not jet a line blind. A camera inspection first tells us what the pipe is made of, where the problem is, and whether the pipe can take the pressure; a collapsed or badly broken line needs repair, not jetting, and jetting it would make things worse. Then we select the nozzle and pressure for the pipe and the problem, jet from the cleanout toward the main, and run the camera again to show you a clean pipe. You get the before and after footage. If the camera finds a broken section, that goes to sewer line repair with an honest quote.
Hydro jetting or snaking
A cable, or snake, breaks a hole through a clog so water can pass. It is fast, it is the right tool for a one time blockage, and it is what we use first on most drains; see drain cleaning. Hydro jetting removes the buildup from the pipe walls instead of punching through it, which is why a jetted line stays open for years while a cabled line clogs again in months. The honest rule: first clog, cable. Second clog in the same line, camera and jet.
Is hydro jetting safe for my pipes
For sound PVC, cast iron and clay, yes; the pressure is matched to the pipe and the nozzle does the work. For a line that is cracked, collapsed, or Orangeburg that has gone soft, no, and the camera inspection first is how we know. We will not jet a pipe that cannot take it, and we will show you why.
What hydro jetting costs, and why we do not print a number
What moves the quote: the length and size of the line, what is in it (grease, roots and scale take different nozzles and time), access to a cleanout, and whether a camera inspection before and after is part of the job, which for a main line it should be. We come out, run the camera, and give you one flat rate quote with nothing added later. There is no service call fee for the visit.

Hydro jetting questions, answered
What is hydro jetting?
High pressure water sent through a drain or sewer line from a nozzle that scours the inside of the pipe, cutting out grease, scale, sludge and roots and flushing them out. It cleans the pipe instead of punching a hole through the clog.
Is hydro jetting better than snaking?
For a line that has clogged more than once, yes. A cable clears the clog; jetting removes the buildup that caused it. For a first time clog in a single drain, a cable is the right, cheaper tool.
Can hydro jetting damage pipes?
Not sound pipes at the right pressure. It can damage a line that is already cracked, collapsed or soft, which is why we camera the line first and will not jet a pipe that cannot take it.
Does hydro jetting remove tree roots?
Yes. A root cutting nozzle clears roots from the inside of the pipe. The roots will return through the same crack or joint over time, so the camera also tells you whether a repair or lining is the permanent fix.
How often should a line be hydro jetted?
Homes that have had a main line clog benefit from a yearly jetting before the wet season. Restaurants and commercial kitchens with grease lines usually need a schedule, often quarterly. A line with no history does not need it.
Do you charge a service call fee?
No. We come out, look at the problem, and give you a flat rate quote before any work starts. If you decide to hold off, you owe us nothing.
Do you hydro jet for restaurants and businesses?
Yes. Grease lines, floor drains and main lines for restaurants, offices and commercial buildings across Cherokee County, on a schedule if you want one. See commercial plumbing.
Will I see the results?
Yes. We run the camera before and after and show you the footage, so you see the pipe clean rather than taking our word for it.
Can you jet a septic line?
Yes, the line from the house to the tank. The tank, the field lines and pumping are handled by our septic division, often on the same visit.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Cherokee County, including Ball Ground, Canton, Holly Springs, Hickory Flat, Woodstock and Waleska, plus Jasper and Big Canoe in Pickens County and the Cumming area in Forsyth County.
